DRAWORDER

Another way to deal with overlapping objects is: DRAWORDER command. It allows to: bring object front, bottom, above or back certain objects.

Follow steps to perform command:
1. write DR [DRAWORDER] and press enter
2. select object to bring to front or move back
3. choose one option: Above objects, Under objects, Front, Back
4. pick reference object if Above or Under option was chosen.

TEXTMASK

Poor readability of text covered by geometry, hatch, dimensions? It's repetitive problem with almost every drawing.

Solution: write TEXTMASK press enter and follow instructions on command line.

This function saves time usually spent on cleaning objects overlapping text or often deleting which isn't a good idea unless you know that you don't need them anymore.

CURSORSIZE

Set CURSORSIZE value to 100 and you will have crosshair lines extended to full screen. From left to right border and from down to top.

SELECTIONCYCLING

Problem with overlapping lines, polylines, geometry, text etc? There is easy way to select right element. Just set SELECTIONCYCLING value to 2. Hover over overlapping objects, near cursor will appear small icon. Press left mouse button to display window and pick object.

To toggle off/on selection cycling press Ctrl+W.

Time-sensitive right-click

Use right mouse button for more tasks and more intuitively: pres rmb to repeat last command. Press and hold down to display shortcut menu as usual.

This is time-sensitive right-click. To enable it click Application menu press Options go to User Preferences tab and open Right-Click Customization dialog box and mark Turn on time-sensitive right-click. Remember to determine time to fit Your needs.

'Eyes on command line'

It's not a rule but only a recommendation. You will understand better how AutoCAD behave, when you read it. Often, very often you will find useful hints just before your eyes.

Grab the command line by gray bar on right hand side and move it to the top. After few hours or less you will get used to it.

GRIPS

When manipulating polylines use middle grip to stretch segment of polyline. To activate it write GRIPS press enter and set value to 2.
